Exchanges regularly review the tokens they list. When a token no longer meets an exchange's standards, the exchange may flag it for closer observation or remove it from trading. Binance, one of the largest crypto exchanges by trading volume, publishes both kinds of decision.
Monitoring tags
A monitoring tag indicates that a token shows notably higher volatility and risk than other listed tokens and is under closer review. Exchanges consider factors such as development activity, trading volume and liquidity, network security and how the project responds to their review. A tagged token may later have the tag removed, or may be delisted.
Delisting announcements
A delisting announcement sets a date after which trading pairs for a token are removed. Deposits and withdrawals are usually closed some time later. Liquidity often falls before the delisting date, and price moves can become larger and less predictable.
Why it matters for analysis
- A chart can look technically constructive while the token faces a structural change in where and how it can be traded.
- Thin liquidity makes price easier to move and technical levels less reliable.
- Announcements can arrive at any time and override recent price action.
How Novira Crypto handles it
If Binance announces a delisting or adds a monitoring tag to a coin, the setup card in Novira Crypto shows a notice. These notices come from a third party and may be delayed or incomplete, so always check the exchange's official announcements as well.
